Days 2 and 3 in the N.I.C.U.

Here's Marlee's bed in the N.I.C.U. This is were she spent almost 5 days.

After her bath her IV in her hand went bad. It made her hand swell up. So they put the IV somewhere else......

Baby Marlee

Our little girl is here! She arrived Wednesday November 12 at 8am. She was doing pretty good at first, then started having difficulty breathing. They took x-rays, ran tests and decided to put her on an oxygen treatment. They would put it on for an hour then take it off, watch her, and draw blood and take more tests. They repeated this a few times, then her test results dropped. They wanted her to be transferred to UVRMC to the newborn ICU. They have better oxygen machines there, and they wanted her to get better care. Here's a few pictures to show what she's been through:

This is some of the transport team, and our pediatrician. Can you see Tay and Jaid looking through the window? Kinda cute :) Before they loaded her up they put some medicine in her lungs that would help open up her lung sacks. Then when she gets to the ICU they will put another oxygen thing on her that would help open up her lungs so she can breath easier.

She is now at Utah Valley in the newborn ICU with her little elephant nose on. They took this off during the night to see how she would breath on her own, and she did great! She doesn't need any oxygen at all, she's breathing all on her own and doing very well.

As of today she is doing much better. Her levels are still low but they keep improving. I was just over there and she finally nursed for the first time. She needs to eat well for at least 24 hours and keep her levels at 100 percent before she can come home. We are hoping it will only be a couple more days.

Update

I had a doctor appointment yesterday (Monday), I am 36 1/2 weeks. Since I delivered the other 2 at 37 weeks the doc checked me and said I was dilated to a 3 and 90 percent effaced. Which means she'll be here any day! I am so ready to be done! I can't wait to meet her! We will keep you posted:)
