Half Marathon

Well.... I did it. I ran 13.1 miles! Wow, it was really far! The course wasn't 'all down hill' like it described. There were rolling hills all throughout... not a fan of those hills, especially since I didn't do any hill training. I am proud that I finished, it was really fun! I am planning my next half, Oct 30. I start training for it next week! Come join me!

My best buds! We crossed the finish line holding hands:)

Summer Fun

Bear World in Idaho. The girls loved this place!
It's not everyday you get to hang out with Bambi!

Taylor went to BYU cheer camp. She had a blast! I think she might follow in her mommy's footsteps ;)

Out on a picnic! This duck followed us everywhere! I think she had the hots for Ben ;)

Marlee got her first Build-A-Bear! I love her cheesy grin!

Swimming lessons... Marlee's hot stuff!

2nd 5k... check

I ran my second 5k today! My only goal was to beat my time. I did... by 37 seconds. I'm happy with that, considering the first mile and a half was up hill... and I ran it all by myself :( I didn't have anyone by my side encouraging me to keep going. But I did it! I proved to myself that I am tough, I and I can run by myself ;)
My next bit of news is.......... I signed up for a half marathon yesterday! It is July 10th. Only 2 months to train. I know... I'm crazy, but it will be fun. It's supposed to be the easiest half marathon around here. It goes down Hobble Creek Canyon, so it's all down hill. My friend and I want to get a group of girls to all run it together. So if any of you want to come join us... let me know!

First 5k!

I did it! I ran my first 5k! (A 5k is 3.1 miles) My goal was to run the whole thing, no walking! And I did it! That is a huge accomplishment for me. I have NEVER been a runner! The only times I have ran was for school... way back in the day when I had to run a mile for P.E.
It was lots of fun! The weather was terrible! 37 degrees and rainy. When we first started the 5k it was sprinkling, but just a few minutes into it it really started coming down! Then it turned into SLEET! It felt like little needles stabbing my face! Then the snow came, but not for long, it decided to rain again. We were soaking wet! I couldn't feel my hands, they were frozen... It's all good though, I will always remember this 5k. We still had tons of fun and just laughed at how crazy the weather was :)

Before the race with Katharine and Kara.

After crossing the finish line. WOO WHO! (Ya like my bright pink ear warmer? Yeah I made it out of a sock ;)) Ben was my cheerleader. He toughed out the weather for me, and cheered us on!
My next 5k is Saturday! My goal: beat my time! I'll let you know how I do!

It's About Time!

Some of you know that I have been wanting to do a triathlon for a few years now... but something always came up. Every time I would start training, I would have to stop. The first time I started training I had to stop due to back problems. Then the second time I started training (one year later), I found out I was prego with Marlee. The plan was to keep training, but that was short lived because I got really sick and didn't even want to get out of bed. So here I am now... not pregnant, not nursing, and no doctor's orders... and ready to start training yet again! I'm starting off with the running first. My first goal is to run a 5k May 1st, without stopping. I'm in my 3rd week of training and things are going well! I have a fabulous friend who is doing this with me, there's no way I could do this alone! I'm excited for this little adventure. If the 5k goes well... I will move on to either the triathlon or even a half marathon, I haven't decided yet. Big goals for me this year, I'm blogging about it so all of you will know that I am committed:) There's no giving up now ;-)

Baby bedding

I finally have some pictures of the baby bedding I made for my friend. The curtains have been postponed. Everything turned out so cute! (I didn't make the quilt or pillow.)

Jaidyn's Birthday

Flashback! I can't believe Jaidyn is 4 years old! She is our clown of the family, always finding ways to make us laugh:) Some of her favorites are playing barbies, watching movies, the color pink, eating oreos, and snuggling. Her curly hair is her trademark, I love it!

On her birthday we went miniature golfing, and ate dinner at Los Hermanos. She loves the way they sing their Happy Birthday song. She wanted a pink and purple ladybug cake, I made the big one and Taylor made the little one all by herself! Good job Tay!
Jaidyn got a few games, a new robe, and some clothes
Happy Birthday Jaidy!!! We love you!

Christmas!!!

We had a fun Christmas! The girls were so cute! Marlee's favorite spot was on top of the presents, she sat there and enjoyed the view :)

Santa brought us a Wii. Do you think Taylor's excited? She loves it!

I made each of the girls an apron and gave them baking stuff. What cute little bakers ;D

Christmas Fun

Jaidyn had her preschool Christmas program. She has been so shy in front of other people. She had a part she had to say in the microphone, and we practiced it a lot. I had a feeling she wasn't going to say her part... so I did what I had to do... I bribed her ;) I told her if she said her part I would buy her a present :o Well it worked! She did it, and she did such a good job! Jaidyn has had so much fun in preschool, she loves her teacher, and she is getting so smart! I'm so proud of her :)

Taylor had some friends sleep over, they had fun making gingerbread houses

We decided to go to Temple Square and look at the lights. We had a good time, the girls really enjoyed it. They even got to see their babysitter, Beth. She left on her mission to Temple Square a year ago. The girls have missed her so much! I wish we would've gotten a picture with her...

Christmas Ball

Our ward had a Christmas Ball. So we had to dress up like princesses going to the ball ;) The girls asked if there would be princes there... how cute. I wore my sisters prom dress, which was about 12 years old :o Taylor wore one of my dresses from a high school dance (which I altered to fit her), and Jaidyn wore a dress that I wore at a dance recital when I was 4! I knew these dresses would come in handy some day!

Of course we had to have a visit from Santa! Jaidyn is still terrified of him...
Like mother, like daughter. Nice pose ;D (It wasn't planned either.)
I love this picture of Taylor and Marlee dancing! It's so cute!!!

I forgot to add these pictures to Marlee's birthday post. I also forgot to mention that she's walking!
She's so little in her car seat!

My Birthday

I had a great birthday! I went to the spa and got a body wrap (which I totally recommend) and a facial! Then I came home to a surprise! The girls had decorated the house! They sang Happy Birthday to me when I walked through the door, then I got to open my presents :)

Birthday presents: Lots of clothes, a new coat, new shoes, and my very own canning supplies!
I even got to go to dinner to my favorite place... Macaroni Grill!

Marlee's Birthday

I'm just now getting around to posting this. I've been crazy busy this month! I can't believe my baby is one! She is so happy all the time and full of life!

I attempted to make her cake...

She loved all of her presents!!! It was an exciting night for her ;o)
At her one year check up she weighed 15.1 lbs. She's a tiny little thing, so the doc suggested we do a lot of power packing for the next month. Let's cross our fingers she gains some weight!!!
